Edjacated Phools of Baltimore, MD is definitely knowledgable in their craft. The reggae rock-meets-hip hop six-piece conglomerate teams with Slightly Stoopid‘s DELA on sax for this sweet end-of-summer anthem and we’re stoked to host the world premiere!
Out everywhere tomorrow, “Tell Me” will complete your summer season in stoney, surf style.
Starting with waves crashing and seagulls overhead, Edjacated Phools demands “tell me that you love me, tell me that you want me” before revealing “it’s true, I love you” — all in a melodic manner. DELA‘s skilled saxophone is evident right off the bat, pairing seamlessly to the band’s song structure. As the second verse unfolds, the script flips from a reggae rock sing-song approach to a harder hip hop delivery, with rapped vocals albeit the same goofy demeanor. When it comes to summer love, you can’t take it too seriously, otherwise you’re doing it wrong! DELA leads listeners out of the track with sax breakdown, taking the tempo down a notch from the previous reggae skanking to a more sensuous level. It is summer love, after all…
Be the first to hear the new single below before it hits all digital outlets this Friday and make sure to follow Edjacated Phools on social media, for they are pumping out music during this 2020 downtime.
