WORLD TRACK PREMIERE: Marc Borde “It’s Starting To Snow”

Country folk artist Marc Borde surfaces with an icy tale in “It’s Starting To Snow”, the first single off his forthcoming It Always Rains On My Goodbyes debut LP to be expected later this year. Premiering exclusively today on Top Shelf Music before it hits all digital outlets January 28th, “It’s Starting To Snow” illuminates a relationship at its end, yet physically stuck in place due to a heavy snow fall. “It’ll be a week before she hits the road,” Marc Borde sings of the woman sitting on the couch, a woman he once knew well, now a stranger by circumstance.

“It’s Starting To Snow” envelopes all the elements of a nasty breakup — fiery quips, blustered thoughts and icy resolves.

“It’s warmer on the couch, but the cat hair makes me sneeze,” Borde laments, knowing that his situation is simply one he has to wait out. But, isn’t that the point of heartache? That time heals all wounds? Might as well marvel in the majesty of a snow storm as you reflect on where it all went wrong… it won’t be long until the temperature warms and the ground thaws.

Marc Borde is joined by French singer-songwriter Brisa Roché on the track singing backup vocals, adding lighthearted harmonies to juxtapose his downtrodden demeanor. Recorded at SoCo Sound Lab by Mark LeBlanc and mastered by Nick Townsend (of Infrasonic Sound), it’s hard not to immediately enjoy this banjo-infused forlorn folk song! Now being released via Black Ash record label, this dynamite new track is a perfect addition to wrap up your wintertime, with hopes for an early Spring.
