Hawaii’s own gem, Iration, is coming in hot with their new album Daytrippin and, let me tell you, it’s going to be a sweet trip south of the Border! The title track — released back in July — is a song with such original sound… catchy and jumping, with ska and reggae vibes and blends of rock. It’s hot, for sure! Frontman Micah Pueschel delivers smooth vocals, capturing the true essence of the quite illuminating journey as we watch this fantastic group evolve and flow in the music industry.
It’s clear this band has made it, racking up more than 1 billion total streams worldwide!
Now that a few months have passed since the initial taste, Iration fans have been craving the rest of album finally releasing this week on October 6th! The album was co-written and produced by acclaimed songwriter/producer Suzy Shinn (Panic! at the Disco, Weezer, Dua Lipa) in addition to longtime friend and producer David Manzoor, as well as the band members themselves, with feature guest appearances by Maxi Priest and Claire Wright.
Pueschel elaborates, “The new album Daytrippin is a return to our roots. We set out to strike a balance between polished studio production and the energy of a live show. We leaned on our reggae and rock influences to find a natural evolution from earlier albums like Time Bomb and Hotting Up.”
From what we know of the title track and the new hot jams like “IRL” and “Last Night”, all lyrics emanate the band’s signature sound, painting beautiful landscapes of Hawaii and other exotic locales. In “Daytrippin”, they take us straight to Mexico: “There’s a place that I wanna go // Waves are fast, but the time moves slow // Mezcal and a cloud of smoke // Daytrippin down in Mexico.”
I Instantly fell in love with this track and I am sure you will, too!
Since 2008, the Iration boys have become masters of touring throughout the country and encapsulating the essence of their own sound we have all come to love. Iration has hit the biggest festivals and it’s always about leveling up with these guys — fearless and unmatched. But also, the humanity and soul that comes through their music is the most crucial part of their success. Clearly, the band will continue to push the envelope and remain aligned to their commitment and their unique path in the reggae rock scene.
Iration will be touring heavily throughout the rest of the year in support of the new album with their IRL Fall Tour, featuring special guests Artikal Sound System and Cydeways, visiting 14 states coast-to-coast. The tour kicks off next week on October 13th in Sacramento, California, with stops in Seattle, Denver, Nashville, Boston, and Charlotte among others before the finale performance November 18th in Riverside, CA. We hope to see you at several of their stops!
