EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE: Gisto “All By Myself”
Top Shelf Reggae is honored to present the exclusive world premiere of Vancouver’s biggest trap/reggae artist on the rise, Gisto’s “All By Myself”. The track is the second single off his new full-length LP OMW, following the title track that dropped last month ahead of the album’s December 1st release. “All By Myself” is an extremely transparent account of Gisto’s drug-dealing game, hosted by the hustler himself as he holds nothing back.
The video spins the viewer down the rabbit hole of drug use, tilting and turning in between fading to black.
He’s on top now and “I did it all by myself…”, Gisto boasts, “got nobody’s help.” Along these lone wolf lines, the video proffers disorienting effects and disillusioning imagery to communicate how it feels coming up in the underground. With street art lining a dark tunnel, Gisto recounts the long nights it took driving the streets of Vancouver: picking up, dropping off, cell phones, street rats, waiting, another call, city clocks counting down the hours until morning. The video spins the viewer down the rabbit hole of drug use, tilting and turning in between fading to black. What’s notable about the video is that although topsy-turvy, it implies a brighter tomorrow follows a darkened today (or tonight, rather). With a full moon shining down through a car’s sun roof, a sunrise coming up over a bridge and even the sunglasses Gisto adorns throughout the night – all signs point to payoff. Literally. Gisto didn’t wait to be handed the crown; he created his empire from the ground up. The light at the end of the hustle tunnel shines brighter than any silver spoon.
OMW is now available on all digital outlets off Believe Distribution Services and Slammin Media. With two singles under his belt, Gisto is quickly scaling the trap ladder as he did running the streets of his hometown. For more information on Gisto, visit www.gistomusic.com.
