String Cheese Incident & friends cover “Crisis” for COVID first responders

The String Cheese Incident has recently teamed with other renowned bluegrass and jam band players to produce a colorful cover of Bob Marley’s “Crisis” while stuck at home maintaining social distance. Considering the subject matter so applicable, SCI lead singer Michael Kang hopes this reassures COVID-19 first responders, proffering gratitude for their dedicated and continued sacrifice on the front lines of these trying times.

Recording each part separately, the final product stands as an intricate masterpiece…

Kang comments on the collaboration: “Bob Marley’s Kaya album has been on repeat for a week straight on my phone! I have always loved ‘Crisis’ and it seems so fitting for the times. Since a bunch of our musician friends have been sitting around, we all remotely ‘got together’ to put this song out as a tribute to all the people on the front line of COVID relief. Enjoy! We will all get to play together again soon enough!”

Recording each part separately, the final product stands as an intricate masterpiece, emphasized in the socially-distant video out now! Joining Kang is SCI band member Jason Hann, as well as a truly all-star cast: Jennifer Hartswick (of Trey Anastasio Band), Jeff Coffin (of Dave Matthews Band), Jeff Chimenti (of Dead & Company), Nigel Hall (of Lettuce), Robert “Sput” Searight, Mark Lettieri, Shaun Martin (of Snarky Puppy) and MonoNeon (of Prince, Ghost Note).
