WORLD VIDEO PREMIERE: davvn “depressed in heaven”
2023 began like a whirlwind for Nashville pop/rock duo davvn (pronounced Dawn). A collaboration with punk pop greats Bowling for Soup, spotify editorial playlists, viral Tik Tok videos and a string of killer live performances have catapulted the group into the next level music industry status that so many others only dream of. Today, the band debuted their latest music video for “Depressed in Heaven” The song itself is an introspective look at the fleeting nature of happiness and the constant discontentment of humanity, with lead singer McCall Bliss taking center stage in the accompanying music video.
The music video portrays Bliss as an angel struggling to find happiness in the afterlife, a powerful visual representation of the song’s themes. According to the duo,
the song and video represent the idea that we often let perfect moments slip away too quickly in the present, always seeking more in the future, but finding it difficult to hold onto that feeling in the present.
“We poke holes in our own happiness to the point that we’d probably all still end up depressed in Heaven,” says davvn.
davvn’s “Depressed in Heaven” is a testament to the power of music to explore complex emotions and ideas, and it’s a must-see for fans of the genre. The duo continues to prove themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the pop/rock scene, and this latest release is no exception.
