Dub reggae outfit Island Head premieres the beautiful lyric video for their “Blue Butterfly” single today only on Top Shelf Music! The somber yet inspiring track is an ode to Kyle Messinetti, son of lead singer Will Messinetti, who was taken from this earth too soon by an unfortunate overdose.
A tragedy turned eloquent eulogy — that is “Blue Butterfly” for all who has loved and lost.
Stating that he is a levy “about to break”, Messinetti mourns the death of his son as any dad would do. The weight of the world can be too heavy at times of stress and sorrow. Yet, like a butterfly emerging from cocoon, we all can take what we’re given in this life and come out beautiful on the other side.
