Party at FivePoint with Slightly Stoopid, The Interrupters & more
Dreams do come true! And, Slightly Stoopid’s Party at FivePoint in Irvine on Saturday, October 12th delivered just that! Bringing with them their famous reggae-rock friends HIRIE and J Boog to get the party started, Stoopid also brought along the red hot punk band The Interrupters to help kick the night up a notch.
On the heels of the release of their sizzling new album Dreamer, HIRIE took to the stage, greeting screaming fans with favorite songs, as well as the sweet new song “Put It Down”, showing off the incredible talent of the band. Bringing it back old-school, the group launched into an insane cover of Gwen Stefani/Bradley Nowell song “I Saw Red”, combining reggae and punk fans together as a small pit kicked up. Kyle McDonald (of Slightly Stoopid) even joined the stage for a song!

Up next were the smooth and sultry sounds of J Boog and his Hot Rain Band. They brought supreme love to the stage by playing fan favorites like “Good Cry” and “Sunshine Girl”, which got the crowd moving and grooving. Singing along to every song, the feel-good vibes from the joyful fans permeated the air.
Electrifying the stage next was The Interrupters! They launched into fan favorites, like “Gave You Everything” and “Kerosene”, while the band entertained with their latest release “Fight The Good Fight”. Surprising fans of both genres, the group played an insane cover of Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy”.
The party continued with guests like Uncle Don Carlos joining the boys onstage, and sightings of Mike Tyson backstage…
Last and certainly not least… Slightly Stoopid! Treating fans to a real Party at Five Points, Kyle, Myles and the rest of the Stoopid guys brought the party to the max. Entertaining fans and friends alike with songs like “Closer to the Sun”, “Underneath the Pressure” and “2 AM” while the incredibly talented Jimmy Ovadia painted along on the side of the stage. The party continued with guests like Uncle Don Carlos joining the boys onstage, and sightings of Mike Tyson backstage…, while #teamkinsley was front and center, representing the amazing little girl Kinsley undergoing cancer treatment.
The night was a successful meld of two styles of music that might seem so different. Yet, when you listen to the message of the songs and see the love the fans have for the bands and each other, you realize they aren’t. After all… isn’t that what music is all about?
