3rd Annual Dry Diggings Festival Announced

Everybody’s favorite fall festival is back for its third year of reggae beats and brews, tucked away in the serene Sierra Nevada Mountains. That’s right – the 3rd Annual Dry Diggings Festival has taken shape! About 45 minutes east of Sac town is Placerville, California: home of the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, who has hosted Dry Diggings since its origin in 2015. Founded by California Roots mastermind Jeff Monser, the Dry Diggings experience is one of transformative vibes, thrilling music, and thirst-quenching craft beer. “Our goal for Dry Diggings Festival is to create a unique event where everyone feels welcome,” explains Monser. With onsite camping, this Labor Day Weekend fest is a true tribute to the end of summer.

Going down September 2nd and 3rd, Dry Diggings III is welcoming the biggest acts in reggae and hip hop, with two headliners yet to be announced! Although incomplete, this rundown is one you don’t want to miss: the two-day event will include Matisyahu, Nahko and Medicine for the People, The Expendables, Dilated Peoples, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Common Kings, Evidence, Barrington Levy, Josh Heinrichs, Orgone, Tomorrows Bad Seeds, Seedless, Sammy J, Anuhea, Spawnbreezie, The Expanders, ¡Mayday!, Inna Vision, Arden Park Roots, Thrive, Iya Terra, and Kash’d Out… and that’s with two headliners to be determined! Final acts will be revealed on July 7th, but in the meantime, early bird tickets are available for avid Dry Diggers who want to secure their spot before this year’s event sells out.

And, mystery headliners aren’t the only thing that’s appealing about the 3rd Annual. New to 2017 is a skate competition, with professional skaters signed on to judge! Monser comments that the competition adds to the “backyard party atmosphere” that is the foundation of the fest, “We are really excited to expand and grow the Dry Diggings experience!” If that’s not enough, this NorCal fiesta will also feature an interactive vendor village, onsite camping, and craft beer from Altmont Beer Works and, naturally, Sierra Nevada.
