WeishFest (pronounced “Wish” Fest) will be back for its 9th installment on Friday, December 2nd at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park, IL. The live music event benefits The Andrew Weishar Foundation (“Weish4Ever”) and its mission of uplifting families battling cancer.
This year’s WeishFest features the genre-defying Quinn XCII, hit machines The Fray, and country music stars Mitchell Tenpenny and Morgan Evans, and a grouping of regional and local favorites.
The event blends fun with fundraising, proving you can have a great time while also doing good.
Proceeds from the event bring joy and direct financial relief to families with adolescents and young adults battling cancer. This demographic of the cancer community represents an often-underserved patient population—making Weish4Ever’s mission even more impactful.
The mission was sparked by the selfless wish of the late, Andrew Weishar. Colorectal cancer struck Andrew during his freshman year of college. Over the next two years, Andrew fought bravely and always stayed positive. But he was not alone. A community of thousands rallied around him throughout his battle.
Before his passing in the fall of 2012, 21-year-old Andrew asked his family and friends to pay forward the goodwill bestowed upon him during his fight. From that simple request, WeishFest was born.
Since then, the Andrew Weishar Foundation has granted over $2 million in direct financial assistance to over 400 families throughout Chicagoland and beyond.
