Scene Queen brings Metalicious bimbocore to San Diego

Scene Queen brought her Metalicious Tour to the House of Blues in downtown San Diego on October 1st, 2026. London nu metal duo Wargasm provided direct support with American newcomer Bailey Spinn opening the show.
Spinn (born Bailey Rose Spinnenweber) got her start on TikTok doing comedy videos before gaining momentum covering songs in 2022 and earning over 11 million streams for her hit single “happy ending” in 2023. This show was all about her new darker, heavier material, which will be released in November on her death & devotion album.
Her band shredding in the background, Bailey worked the stage and crowd with confidence.
Wargasm then took over with the reckless abandon typical of a Suicidal Tendencies concert. Made up of duo Sam Matlock (son of Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock) on vocals and guitar and Irish-born Milkie Way sharing lead vocals and playing bass, the two strut back-and-forth across the stage as if it were a catwalk. A backing band was there to fill out the sound.
For those who don’t know, Wargasm earned airplay and awards a few years ago; their set this night featured a string of singles released over the past few years. The duo was constantly engaging with the audience, resulting in a circle pit spinning throughout the set. Sam even leapt into the crowd for some surfing — a fitting move for a San Diego show.!
Scene Queen has increasingly become a feminist icon.
Born Hannah Collins, Scene Queen is a cross between Kesha and Butcher Babies; it’s playful pop meets metalcore… some might call it sludge although she’s personally dubbed it “bimbocore”. Most of her song titles are designed to shock and offend, while her lyrics offer underlying themes meant to encourage and empower women. Let the contradictions abound.
At one point in the show, she hand-picked four fans to come out of the crowd and up onto the stage to be inducted into her honorary sorority, “Bimbo Beta Pi”. She had each of the audience members state their name and pronouns, and recite an oath of inclusion. Everyone present was welcome to recite the oath out loud and become part of the group in a show of solidarity. In this vein, Scene Queen stated before her last song: “Love is love. Trans rights are human rights. Live music is for people to show up as you are and have fun.”
Covering every era of her catalog, Scene Queen naturally included fan-favorite “Barbie & Ken”, which her guitarist sang on, as well as the infamous “18+” from her Hot Singles In Your Area — a song scorning the sexual misconduct in the scene she grew up in. Milkie and Sam of Wargasm joined her onstage for “Girls Gone Wild”, which they had recorded together, although most of the night belonged to tracks from her harder, edgier METALICIOUS EP which was recently released. And the crowd ate it up.
