80s night in Anaheim, with The Motels & more

On July 1st, the 80s flashed back in Anaheim at the House of Blues. The Motels headlined with night with support from Gene Loves Jezebel, Bow Wow Wow, When in Rome and The Untouchables. The Untouchables hit the stage first, getting everyone warmed up with favorites like “I Spy (For The FBI)”, “Free Yourself” and “Wild Child”.

I always enjoy an Untouchables set…

Next up was When in Rome, keeping the crowd dancing with their classics like “The Promise”. Then came Bow Wow Wow, playing songs we all love like “I Want Candy”.  After that, Gene Loves Jezebel hit the stage dancing and singing, generally having a great time. The singer’s kids came onstage so he could wish his daughter a happy birthday, which was really special. Last, The Motels came out and finished the night off with songs like “Only the Lonely”, “Take the L” and “Suddenly Last Summer”. It was really great getting to hear all the songs from when I was a kid, bringing a flood of memories and emotions up from decades past.
