This was night number two of two sold out shows at The Belly Up Tavern in San Diego, California. Surprisingly, there wasn't an opener! Matisyahu played for what, I believe, was two hours – with a short 15 minute intermission. The Belly Up is a smaller, intimate club and the lighting and mood that night made it all the more intimate. The set was a mix of low to high energy music: sort of a rollercoaster, where one minute you were sort of slowly swaying to the tunes, and by the next song, you were full-on getting funky with your dancing. Matisyahu graced his audience with an encore of three songs, which stood as a nice cap to a perfect night! Overall, Matisyahu displayed a solid mix of older and newer tunes, and even transformed his “One Day” hit into a 15-minute jam session that ended with one of his newer songs!
