Boyz II Men gifts roses to lucky ladies in Lincoln, CA
In the heart of Lincoln, CA, The Venue at Thunder Valley became a time machine on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, transporting fans back to the golden era of R&B. With a lineup boasting the talents of Boyz II Men, Hi-Five, and Stokley, attendees were treated to a night of unforgettable performances that evoked cherished memories and ignited the dance floor.
The evening kicked off with Hi-Five, who burst onto the stage adorned in black robes before revealing dazzling blue jackets that shimmered under the stage lights. Their synchronized dance moves and powerhouse vocals immediately set the tone for the night. Hits like “I Just Can’t Handle It,” “Hard to Get,” and “I Can’t Wait Another Minute” reverberated through the crowd, but it was the soulful rendition of “I Like the Way (The Kissing Game)” that sent fans into a frenzy.
Closing their set with the solid groove of “Never Should’ve Let You Go”, Hi-Five left the audience ecstatic.
Next up was Stokley, a seasoned veteran in the R&B scene, known for his role as the lead singer and drummer of Mint Condition. Going through classic Mint Condition hits, like “U Send Me Swinging” and “Breakin’ My Heart”, with his own solo offerings, such as “Vibrant” and “She”, Stokley’s charismatic performance kept his audience captivated. The place exploded in eruption when he teased the opening notes of “Breakin’ My Heart”.
Finally, the moment that many had been eagerly awaiting arrived. Boyz II Men graced the stage and, from the opening notes of “Water Runs Dry” to the soul-stirring ballads like “On Bended Knee” and “I’ll Make Love to You”, Boyz II Men delivered a masterclass in R&B excellence. The crowd even joined in to sing Mariah Carey‘s parts during “One Sweet Day”!
In addition to their own chart-toppers, Boyz II Men treated fans to a medley of covers.
From the smooth melodies of “Cupid” by 112 to the electrifying energy of “Locked Out of Heaven” by Bruno Mars, each song was infused with the group’s signature flair and impeccable vocal harmonies. As the night drew to a close with none other than “Motownphilly”, it was evident that Boyz II Men’s legacy as one of the greatest R&B groups of all time remains as strong as ever.
