KAABOO weekend is always a highlight of the year. After KAABOO Del Mar kicked off to an epic start with Wu-Tang and Snoop Dogg headlining Night One, Day Two vibes were running high… almost as high as the heat! Good thing the pool in the BASK section was popping off all day aside the Sunset Cliffs main stage. First up was Beastie Boy legend Mix Master Mike at the turntables, followed by the punky boys of Badflower and South Side Johnny & the Asbury Jukes on the remaining two stages. By midday, Cayman natives Suckerbox was performing some punk rock on the Palate + Play stage before Laine Hardy, Switchfoot and Blind Melon (with new lead singer) stepped up to the proverbial plate.
Cheat Codes made it rain, literally, throwing hundreds of ones in the air at the beginning of their set.
Cheat Codes made it rain, literally, throwing hundreds of ones in the air at the beginning of their set. The dance party that followed was off the Richter scale lit, as the kids would say. Over in the VIP section, Foo Fighter Taylor Hawkins and his Chevy Metal cover band took center stage in full flamboyant garb. What a man that guy is…
The afternoon sun shone down brightly as the pool section bounced around oversized inflatable beach balls to Bryan Adams belting out the “Summer of 69” before Keuning and Sublime With Rome took over the early evening. Sublime always generates such a sing-a-long. With Day Two descended into night, OneRepublic and Squeeze entertained all before headliners Dave Matthews Band and Black Eyed Peas split the crowd in two — one mellow, one maniacal. Stay tuned for Day Three photos, coming soon!
