On Aug 15th, after a solid two years with no shows, Avila Beach was back in business with the summer’s hottest show, Rebelution and friends. Originally, Kabaka Pyramid was supposed to be at this show, yet attendees were instead greeted with a wonderful surprise performance by none other than Miss HIRIE. She started off the night with her intimate acoustic set, playing her original songs stripped down.
“…seeing and hearing the crowd go wild and sing along to them was so emotional…”
Next was Keznamdi, coming all the way from Jamaica! While performing his songs, he shed some light on some serious topics that are happening in his hometown and country. This was my second time seeing Keznamdi and his performance keeps getting better and better. Last to go was headliner Rebelution; seeing and hearing the crowd go wild and sing along to them was so emotional, hearing the passion people had been holding onto since before COVID. It will be something I will never forget. Hands down, this is a must-see show for fans of all types of reggae music.
