Testament’s Bay Strikes Back Tour hits San Luis Obispo

After two long years, the Bay Strikes Back Tour was finally back in action, starting off in San Luis Obispo on April 9th, 2022. With 80s thrash metal legends Death Angel, Exodus and Testament, it was a night of head-banging hard rock, well overdue!

This was my first official metal show, so it was cool to see some old-school legends.

Death Angel started off the night, before Exodus, who I was most excited to see, took over. It was really insane to witness guitar wizard Gary Holt live in action up onstage! The band’s stage presence was like none other — super high energy. Finally, was time for Testament. When I found out that drum legend Dave Lombardo was going to be drumming with them, I got super excited! The way they had the stage set up gave you a feeling as if you were back in the 80s, with lights and logos projected behind the band. It was definitely one of the coolest shows I’ve seen in a long time.
