Jelly Roll came to Sacramento at the Golden 1 Center on his Beautifully Broken Tour on Wednesday, September 4th. The sold-out show was incredible, with a few surprises!

The night began with Alexandra Kay from Waterloo, Illinois.

Her heartfelt songs and beautiful voice got the audience amped up and excited for the night, opening with her single “More Than You”. She was really appreciative of Jelly Roll bringing her along for this tour, especially as an independent artist! She ended her set with a song about long-distance love, entitled “I Hate Airplanes”.

Later in the evening, Jelly Roll surprised her with a birthday cake, as it just so happened to be her birthday!! He, along with the entire audience, sang her “Happy Birthday” with Kay asking aloud as she blew out her candles, “What do you even wish for? This is the best thing you could ever do on your birthday!”

The second opener was Warren Zeiders, originally from Hershey, Pennsylvania. He has gained a huge following since signing with Warner Records in 2021.  His band had a lot of members in it and they were really great. They had a lot of fans in the audience and  I really enjoyed “Pretty Little Poison”.

Next, was the moment we were all waiting for! Jelly Roll made his way from the front stage area to the back of the floor section with his wife, Bunnie, sending him off with a kiss to this smaller stage area where he opened with “I Am Not Okay”, prompting most of the audience to already be in tears!

During the song, the stage that was framed like a house was lit up in fire.

After the opening song, Jelly Roll made his way up to the main stage. Throughout the night, he spoke about how his concerts are for hope, healing, and love. He spoke about how grateful he was and how opportunities in music changed his life — and his family’s life — to which he is so thankful. Jelly Roll introduced the band and then sang “Burning” with lots of pyrotechnics onstage, especially as he went into “Halfway to Hell”. Some other highlights were “Liar”, “Son of a Sinner”, “Smoking Section”, and “Wild Ones”.

Another surprise of the night was when Jelly Roll announced that his good friend, Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach, was there, who then came out and sang “Last Resort”.

It really was the best surprise and so amazing to see them together!

Jelly Roll played two covers during the night, “Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks and “Good Riddance” by Green Day. He also played the crowd-favorite, “Need a Favor”.

To close out an already amazing night, Jelly Roll made his way back to the smaller stage in the middle of the arena for “Somebody Save Me”, leaving most of us in tears, just how we were when the show started. It was so moving and touching. The whole night was so much fun, but it was also so inspirational and full of love! Thank you Jelly Roll… I cannot wait to see you again!
