An incredible new hip hop festival is about to hit Los Angeles! For those a fan of underground hip hop, you’ve got to get on Smoking Grooves Festival! It’s carefully curated for the true hip hop lover. Going down at LA State Historic Park on March 19th, the inaugural Smoking Grooves will welcome some of the biggest names in hip hop alongside scene up-and-comers for 12 hours straight!
Smokin Grooves Fest 2022 is where the old-school meets the new-school… and we’re not talking’ mumble rap.
What we mean is that industry heavyweights (like Nas and Erykah Badu) are set to perform on the same stages as Thundercat and Toro y Moi! Get your bluesy hip hop on with The Roots‘ unique fusion of rap and jazz, while Miguel and Jhené Aiko serenade your soul R&B-style. Get EDM elements from Flying Lotus, before getting your groove on with famous saxophonist Kamasi Washington — the sub-genres in this fest are vast! Others slated to appear are The Internet, SiR, Little Dragon, Hiatus Kaiyote, Musiq Soulchild, India.Arie, Macy Gray (remember her???), Angie Stone, Leela James, Talib Kweli, Roy Ayers, Dead Prez (throwback!!!), Slum Village, Dwele, Ravyn Lenae, Phony ppl, Fousheé, Yussef Dayes, Goapele, Free Nationals, Bilal, Charlotte Day Wilson, DOMI & JD Beck, Jelani Aryah, Blu & Exile, Unusual Demont and daydream Masi.
