Reggae rock trio The Irie returns with the world premiere of “Fire in my Head”, featuring Katastro frontman Andy J! Streaming exclusively today only on Top Shelf Music before it hits all digital outlets this Friday, March 25th, “Fire in my Head” is exactly the right kind of vibe for the emerging springtime… and — let’s be honest — all of summer, too!
Get ready for some “fire” in YOUR head!
With echoing lyrics layered with reverb and an uplifting bubble organ, this track starts out catchy as all hell. But, just wait till you get to the chorus! The Irie sings that between “you” and “me”, that’s “all the love that we need” over a driving pop beat and blaring horns. There’s even a dancehall vibe that kicks in at verse two! And, if you weren’t hooked yet, welcome Andy J (of fellow Arizona band Katastro) at the bridge, adding some hip hop to the mix (as well as some pretty overt sex appeal).
This single is the first release off of The Irie’s forthcoming debut album, set to be unleashed on the public later this summer. Can’t wait till then? It’s rumored that The Irie has another single drop with subsequent music video coming in April, so be on the lookout for that! For more information on The Irie, visit the links below.
