Bass Camp 2024: Day One

Bass Camp celebrated its 10th installment in the popular Wingfield Park in Reno, Nevada on July 27th and 28th, 2024. With another day added, Reno now had all the more reason to make it an entire weekend affair, with immaculate pre- and post-parties around the “biggest” little city starting on Friday July 26th.  

After a poppin’ pre-party went down at a venue called Deadringer, campers showed up early Saturday to be greeted by perfect weather, fluid entry, and perfect views in any direction. 

Bass Camp featured two stages that were really just feet from each other, yet were completely in their own soundscapes. There was, of course, the main stage and then there was an insane stage setup by the iconic Dancetronauts that featured five dance platforms surrounding the DJ with an accompanying art car, full of the vibiest dancers on earth!

At any point in time, you could find astronomical pyro production with the dirtiest drops, along with vibrant, mind-melting laser features. On this cool stage we were lucky to catch Groove Cartel, Mitch Dodge, Color.Love, Ekonovah, Baby Weight, Moon Boots, Manic Focus, Marten Horner, and a special set form the Dancetronauts themselves to close the evening out at 10pm. Over on the neighboring main stage, we were blown away by some extremely notable b2bs: Kill The Noise + Bro Safari (Kill Safari), and later, a legendary collaboration closing set by Big Gigantic + Nghtmre (Gigantic Nghtmre). Other artists to light up the main stage nestled in front of the Truckee River were Polar Bears, GorlillaT, Jaws, Wax Motif, and San Holo, each bringing their own individual flare to the seamless day of nonstop music. 

Day One of Basscamp’s 10th Annual went off without a hitch.

As Gigantic Nghtmre played their closing song, the audience was buzzing for the afters — thank you again, Deadringer! Thanks to the magic that is Reno, afters went off and we were full, but still hungry for one more day.
