Deftones defies expectations in San Francisco
Excited Deftones fans were so happy to finally see the band live on April 18th, after a long wait due to the COVID-19 pandemic. You could tell the band was also estatic to be back, reminiscing the good ‘ol days alongside fellow hard rock bands Gojira and Vowws at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
I couldn’t help but think of how much went into this show, with the huge screens behind the band and electrifying lights.
It all added to the powerful delivery of such a great mix of songs off all nine of their studio albums! I personally had a bit of a fangirl moment in the photography pit when Deftones started playing the second song, “Rocket Skates”; I had to reel myself back in to get keep shooting. It wasn’t easy, cause I just wanted to rock out! Chino, Abe, Stephen, Frank and debut performance by Fred Sablan (bass) and Lance Jackman (guitar)… you all did Chi super proud, I’m sure of it! If you are seeing a show on this tour, you’re going to have a blast. If you don’t have tickets yet, you need to try and get some before they sell out!
