March 6th in Los Angeles marked a week before COVID-19 hit the west coast hard, allowing a handful of last live performances to take place before the mandated city shutdown. One such performance was Griselda — a gangster rap group made up of members Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine and Benny the Butcher — all the way from the east coast to perform freestyle works at The Novo in downtown LA. As the rappers took the stage, friends and comrades of the crew joined in on the show, bouncing from one to the other seamlessly as the crowd cheered on.
…lovers of pure, unadulterated hip hop should take the time to see Griselda Records perform live!
The mastery behind Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine and Benny the Butcher is fantastic to witness, binding together in the same sense of other initiatives like Wu-Tang Clan. The packed house whooped and hollered as the rhymes flowed, stretching into the late hours of the night. When this global pandemic dies down, lovers of pure, unadulterated hip hop should take the time to see Griselda Records perform live!
