Bayfest San Diego expands with first-ever Mission Bayfest

If you’ve happened to attend one (or all) of the past three Bayfests in San Diego, you would know how this fest celebrates all that is Southern California culture. And, it’s also the ultimate kickoff for summer! Now that 2022’s summer installment of Bayfest has come and gone (with headliners Iration, Atmosphere and beyond), the fest’s coordinators over at Outside Shows have revealed a SECOND Bayfest on September 24th — this time in Mission Bay! The inaugural Mission Bayfest will still feature breathtaking views of the bay (albeit a skip and a jump north of downtown), as well as Bayfest’s signature larger-than-life lineups for any alternative or reggae rock enthusiast.

At last, the long-awaited sister fest of San Diego’s biggest summer party.

The temperature might be dropping outside and the tourists have hung their hats back home for the fall season, but you’ll be happily singing “my sweet summer is gone” with Dirty Heads headlining the night! If that wasn’t enough, trance-y vibey band Thievery Corporation will bring their mesmerizing performance to the stage; just these two bands means that the event is a back-to-back banger already. Add in hometown heroes Tribal Seeds and Through The Roots with up-and-comers Bikini Trill and you have yourself an all-around unmissable day of reggae music. Seriously, you do NOT want to hold out on these tickets!

Speaking of, it being a single-day event, tickets are now on sale and are as low as $60 for general admission. That’s right — $60. The cost of a sushi dinner (possibly more, if you’re the type that heads to Harney). VIP options are a mere $260, if you really want to live large. See you all at Mariner’s Point Park in September!
