Fresh out of a summer tour with The Dirty Heads and Aer, Pepper has just announced plans for an extensive fall tour. Starting on November 10th in Tuscon, the band will play twenty-six shows in a little over a month’s time. The genre-defying band that hail from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, will be accompanied by the always-melodic reggae rock trio The Movement, as well as up and comers New Beat Fund. The tour will feature stops in New Orleans, New York City, Los Angeles, along with many other lucky locations.
Their unique sound has unsurprisingly captured a diverse audience
Formed on the Big Island in 1997, Pepper has dominated what can loosely be defined as the surf-rock-reggae genre. Their unique sound has unsurprisingly captured a diverse audience, most notably with acclaimed albums Kona Town and In With The Old, released in 2002 and 2004 respectively. The band’s most recent album comes a considerable amount of time after their last full-length release Pink Crustaceans and Good Vibrations, which came out in 2008. And while the band toured and released an EP in the latter span of time, their latest self-titled release is a result of a brief hiatus and a purposefully deliberate recording process. Lead singer/guitarist states on the group’s tumblr page: “It’s the hardest thing we’ve ever done as a band to make this record.”
If you want to catch Pepper perform some of their noteworthy new material most likely mixed in with a few of their catchy classics, we highly suggest coming out to see them on this fall tour.
