WORLD VIDEO PREMIERE: Renegad “African Trod”
Jamaican artist Renegad is paying tribute to his roots in this Top Shelf Reggae world premiere of his “African Trod” music video! The track “African Trod” is off the latest African Trod Riddim compilation produced by Cally B of Small Axe Entertainment and is now available via Rebel Sound Records on all digital outlets to riddim and roll to. With Renegad growing up in Portmore, JA, he spouts Rastafarian vibes through his life and through his music, with appreciation and admiration of roots and family. Blessings and never bite the hand that feeds!
Let’s get back to roots, back to simplicity.
In this mellow video by APS Columbian Films, Renegad juxtaposes his Caribbean life today with that of African citizens. Africa, the Omega, “the land I wanna trod away”. Bongo drums and flying titles introduce the narrative, with Renegad chanting beside a map of African countries in a split screen fashion. “Up to Ghana, I wanna make away,” Renegad proposes in an effort to shy away from modern-day civilization. Let’s get back to roots, back to simplicity. With African children playing football in the plains and smiling together for the camera in the towns, the video continues to show the merit in visiting the land of yesterday to have a better tomorrow.
