The second day of Salt Lake City’s HIVE Festival 2021 was happily upon us, a nonstop whirlwind of a day filled with A-list rap performance. Don Toliver, Jack Harlow, Joey Badass, Flo Milli, SAINt JHN, Tyla Yaweh, Yung Gravy and Kaash Paige rocked the festival from start to (almost) finish.
And, then Post Malone — performing in his hometown — set the stage on fire.
The whole city was singing along to Posty’s well-known songs and his small speeches of gratitude in between brought about a very cosy atmosphere. Post Malone is famous for his high-level live performances, which this time included an acoustic version of “Stay”, a guitar crashing “Rockstar” and, always, his intimate way of singing. This was a special night for everyone; the excitement being in the moment is hard to describe in retrospect. The royal rap celebration ended as it should — with huge fireworks.
