KAABOO Del Mar 2019: Day One

A rush of anticipation hit Del Mar, California at the crack of noon on Day One of the 5th Annual KAABOO Del Mar Festival. The best weekend of the year was upon SoCal residents and everyone came prepared. The first of three days of A-list entertainment kicked off with turn-of-Millennium alt rock band Plain White T’s, followed by the funk of Vintage Trouble and the alternative thrills of Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. Chefs were firing up delicacies and the Humor Me Stage was in full swing by the time Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul took over, joining J Human, Silversun Pickups and REO Speedwagon to fill out the mid-afternoon.

The best weekend of the year was upon SoCal residents and everyone came prepared.

“Motown Philly” RnB legends Boyz-II-Men serenaded all into the early evening, with further top performances by 80s rockers The Cult and country pop star Maren Morris. Wu-Tang, reunited again with ODB’s son filling in for the late rapper, was a true highlight to witness. Splitting the stage with Snoop Dogg, attendees got to catch Grizfolk and Kings of Leon before the Doggfather finished Day One in true hip hop style — blunts, mascots and pole dancers galore. Who could ask for more? Well, there’s a lot more coming from us when it comes to KAABOO 5, so stay tuned for Day Two and Three galleries coming soon.
